At the September Advice Service Network we looked the process of Mandatory Reconsideration – frontline advisers in Brighton & Hove have been reporting their concerns about this process for some time and The National Citizens Advice Bureau approached us and asked for feedback on the process ahead of a meeting they had with the National Partnerships team at the DWP.
In order to gather this feedback we facilitated a workshop which 18 people from across 13 different organisations and 3 different council teams took part in;

These were MACS, The Fed, Rise, Citizens Advice, Macmillan, BHT, The
Martlets, The Carers Centre, Brighton Unwaged Advice & Rights Centre, Brighton & Hove Food
Partnership, Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project, Basics Food Bank, East Sussex Credit
Union as well as Financial Inclusion, Welfare Rights and Access Point from Brighton & Hove City
